The VIOFO A229 Ultra-W 2CH records everything in front of and behind your vehicle in 4K. Both cameras use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors, keeping details sharp even in low light or bad weather. The rear camera is fully waterproof and designed for outdoor mounting. This ensures clear images in all conditions. HDR provides well-balanced contrast, making license plates and situations more visible when light and shadow alternate quickly.
Dual 4K front and rear
The A229 Ultra-W 2CH uses two 4K cameras that each capture a large part of the surroundings. The Front camera has an F1.8 lens with a 140-degree field of view. The rear camera also delivers 4K image quality and has an F1.5 lens with a 130-degree field of view. This rear camera is IP67 waterproof and remains reliable in rain and snow.
Sharp images day and night
The STARVIS 2 sensors provide clear images with less noise and less motion blur. This is especially helpful in low-light situations, such as driving in the dark, in tunnels, or in the rain. HDR works on both cameras and helps make details more visible when lighting varies greatly. The A229 Ultra-W 2CH thus captures realistic, calm, and sharp footage, even in changing conditions.
Ease of use
The 2.4-inch HR display clearly shows menus and recordings when you are stationary. Thanks to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi, you can quickly transfer footage to your phone. If you want to transfer files directly or update firmware, connect the dashcam with a USB 2.0 Type-C cable.
With voice control, you operate functions without touching the screen. You start recordings, take photos, or turn wifi on or off with simple spoken commands. The dashcam gives notifications when settings change or when the memory card reports an error.
GPS logging
The built-in Quad-Mode GPS logger works with various satellite systems. Speed, route, and time are saved and linked to your video. You can review this later in the VIOFO app or on your laptop. This gives you a clear overview when you need information for analysis.
Surveillance
With parking mode, the A229 Ultra-W 2CH stays alert when the car is stationary. When movement is detected, the dashcam automatically starts recording. Thanks to buffering, footage is captured from 15 seconds before to 30 seconds after the event. Timelapse is useful for longer recordings with less storage use: you can choose between 1 to 10 fps. Low bitrate recording continuously records with smaller files, so you save more space on your microSD card.
Loop recording automatically overwrites old footage so the card doesn’t fill up. The G-sensor locks important footage when a shock or collision is detected.
CPL filter and mounting options
The front camera supports a CPL filter that reduces reflections on glass and wet roads. This keeps the image calmer and details more visible. Various cable lengths are available for the rear camera, making it easy to mount on large vehicles or trucks.
