Which VIOFO dashcam suits your camper?
As a camper owner, you want your vehicle to be well protected on the road and while parked. A dashcam is the ideal solution: you record trips, always have evidence in case of an incident, and with parking mode your camper is monitored even when stationary. Because a camper is larger than a regular car, this requires specific dashcams and longer cable options. VIOFO offers exactly the right models and accessories for this.
Dashcams with and without waterproof rear camera
For campers, it is a great advantage that some dashcams are equipped with a waterproof rear camera. These are ideal for outdoor installation, for example on the rear wall of the camper. In the standard models, the rear camera is intended for indoor installation, for example against the rear window.
-
VIOFO A329SW 2CH – Equipped with a waterproof 2K rear camera for outdoor installation and a 4K Front camera recording up to 60 fps. Thanks to the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor and HDR, you capture razor-sharp images even in low light. This series is also available as a 3CH variant, where you can choose an interior camera or telephoto lens as the third channel (not both simultaneously).
-
VIOFO A329S 2CH – Has the same 4K 60 fps Front camera as the SW, but with a standard rear camera for indoor installation. This model is also available as a 3CH version, allowing you to add an interior camera or telephoto lens.
-
VIOFO A229 Pro 2CH – Equipped with a standard rear camera for indoor installation and a 4K Front camera recording at 30 fps. Also available as a 3CH variant, allowing you to add an interior camera or telephoto lens.
-
VIOFO A229 Ultra 2CH – Both front and rear cameras record in 4K. This version comes with a standard rear camera for indoor installation. The 3CH version of the Ultra is available with an interior camera.
-
VIOFO A229 Ultra-W 2CH – Equipped with a waterproof rear camera for outdoor installation and a 4K front camera. This makes it perfect if you want to mount the rear camera on the outside of the camper. The 3CH variant of the Ultra-W is available with an interior camera.
Cable options for campers
Because a camper is much larger than a car, longer cables are indispensable. VIOFO responds well to this:
-
Front the A329 series, cables up to 20 meters are available.
-
Front the A229 Pro/Plus series, cables up to 10 meters are available.
Important: these cables do not apply to the waterproof variants (such as the A329SW and A229 Ultra-W). For a waterproof rear camera, the specific waterproof cable must always be used.
Parking mode for optimal security
Especially with a camper, you often stand still for longer periods, for example at a campsite or parking lot. Those are moments when damage or vandalism can occur. With parking mode, your dashcam remains active even when stationary. All cameras of the dashcam record – so not only the front camera, but also the rear camera and possibly the extra interior or telephoto lens camera. You can choose from:
-
Motion detection – the dashcam automatically starts recording upon movement or impact.
-
Time-lapse mode – the camera captures footage at a low frame rate, so you have hours of surveillance without your SD card filling up.
-
Low bitrate mode – continuous recording in lower quality, so you still capture everything with minimal load on memory and battery.
With a Hardwire Kit, you connect the dashcam directly to the camper's battery, so that parking mode works optimally without draining the household battery too quickly.
