The VIOFO A229 Pro 1CH dashcam is the perfect option for those looking for complete protection and who prefer to record every detail of every ride. With the latest dual cameras, equipped with Sony's advanced STARVIS 2 technology, this dashcam sets a new standard. The camera offers unparalleled 4K recording capabilities on the front, ensuring razor-sharp video quality at any time of the day or night. The VIOFO A229 Pro 1CH includes a free CPL-200 filter in the package.
The dashcam is equipped with a 2.4 inch ultra HD screen, for crystal clear photo and video previews while driving. For safe and convenient use, a Bluetooth remote control is optional.
Double Sony STARVIS 2 sensors
The A229 Pro is a 1CH forerunner in the dashcam world by using two industry-leading Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors. With the IMX678 and IMX675 sensors you enjoy a wider dynamic range and higher light sensitivity than the standard STARVIS technology. This translates to significantly reduced noise and motion blur during the day, and clearer recordings at night.
Smart voice control and 24/7 parking monitoring
The dashcam has an advanced voice control function that allows you to manage recording, take photos and control WiFi. You do this with simple spoken commands in different languages (English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese). It also keeps you informed of setting changes or memory card errors via voice notifications, so you always stay focused on the road.
Thanks to a built-in buffer function, the camera automatically starts recording as soon as moving objects are detected. It saves as video 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after the detected event.
Timelapse recording
Want to save storage space? Record video at a lower frame rate of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 frames per second, without audio recording, to save storage space and energy.

After almost 6 years, I had to replace my A119S. What I don't like about the A229 Pro is the angle connecter, the cable must be guided upwards. The bracket is very fiddly compared to the old bracket. Why do you make a cable with USB-C to USB-A? The image quality of the A229 Pro is top.
Bought a 1 channel A229 Pro.
The GPS modul was not working but was fast replaced by the customer service (refreshing speed and customer-oriented attitude 😊).
The installation was easy. I like the compactness of the camera and its userfriendliness.
Something that I do not like is the small screen for the camera on the Viofo app. The screen is too small and it cannot be expanded. I can understand the thinking behind it; Viofo wants space for 3 screens (for 3 cameras). But when you have 1 camera, then one should be able to expand the screen.
Another annoying feature is that while the video seems to have excellent quality in the app, the quality diminishes when I transfer the video to e.g. my camera. Interestingly the speedometer also “stops” working when the video is transferred, that is in only shows 2 km/h. Maybe I have missed something, but I could not find anything on the web or the instructions.
I bought my first ever dashcam after an extensive research.
I received though a faulty GPS part, which was rapidly exchanged by VIOFO - excellent service!
The camera functions well, but what I am less satisfied with is the video quality when downloaded and played on e.g. my laptop. The picture becomes flickery. Furthermore, of some reason, the speed is displayed as zero, even though I know that during driving the speedometer works.
