The VIOFO A229 Pro 3CH dashcam is the perfect option for those who want complete protection and prefer to record every detail of every ride. With the latest dual cameras, equipped with Sony's advanced STARVIS 2 technology, this dashcam sets a new standard. The camera offers unparalleled 4K recording capabilities on the front and 2K on the back and inside, ensuring razor-sharp video quality at any time of the day or night. The VIOFO A229 Pro 3CH includes a free CPL-200 filter in the package.
The dashcam is equipped with a 2.4 inch ultra HD screen, for crystal clear photo and video previews while driving. For safe and convenient use, a Bluetooth remote control is optional.

With the IMX678 and IMX675 sensors you enjoy a wider dynamic range and higher light sensitivity than the standard STARVIS technology. This translates to significantly reduced noise and motion blur during the day, and clearer recordings at night.
Improved infrared sauna recording
When the camera detects low-light conditions in the car, it automatically turns on the 4 infrared LED lights. This ensures that sharp black and white image details are captured even in total darkness.
Smart voice control and 24/7 parking monitoring
The dashcam has an advanced voice control function that allows you to manage recording, take photos and control WiFi. You do this with simple spoken commands in different languages (English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese). It also keeps you informed of setting changes or memory card errors via voice notifications, so you always stay focused on the road. Thanks to a built-in buffer function, the camera automatically starts recording as soon as moving objects are detected. It saves as video 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after the detected event.

It's an all-around good package. Having Starvis 2 sensors both at the front and back is really helpful in reading license plates. I hope it will only get better with firmware updates. Recommended!
I was surprised how easy it was to install on my Kia Niro hybrid. No cables are visible. The drivers visibility was not at all impaired by carefully placing the cameras in the best place. I am impressed with how well the whole system works and I love the voice commands and the voice responses each time the system changes status. I will be using the parking protection quite a lot so I have ordered a Dashcam battery "Power Core 6200LFP" recommended by viofo. That will extend the parking time with no worries about draining the battery.

Alle drie de cameras waren in een klein uur aangesloten met de bekabeling netjes weggewerkt door alle goten en rubberen doorvoer (Stationwagon) voor de achterruit.
Het instellen van de dashcam met hardware kit optie was ook zo gepiept met de VIOFO app. Er zijn overigens makkelijk sites op het Internet te vinden met de "beste" instellingen, mocht de hoeveelheid instellingen wat overwelmend zijn.
Waar ik achteraf nog wel even mee bezig ben geweest is het goed bevestigen van het polarisatie filter. Deze heeft even nodig voordat het goed afklemt op de lens.
Ps. De dashcam ondersteunt OOK microSD kaarten van 512GB ook al is dat wat overkill, omdat het apparaat oudere bestanden automatisch overschrijft indien de geheugenkaart vol raakt.
